Samsung Galaxy A42 5G smartphone with 5000mAh battery announced [updated]

South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced a new Galaxy A Series 5G smartphone called Galaxy A42 5G. It has dual Nano SIM slots and sports a completely new textured pattern at back. The mobile was announced at its ‘Life Unstoppable’ online event.

The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G specs include 6.6-inch AMOLED Infinity-U display with FHD+ resolution. It has octa-core Snapdragon 720G mobile platform with Adreno 619 GPU. It has an under-display fingerprint sensor for fast and secure unlocking.

The smartphone comes in option of 4GB / 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB / 128GB UFS 2.1 storage space. It has MicroSD card support up to 512GB. The handset is powered by 5000mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G features in 20MP front camera with F/2.2 Aperture. At the back side are quad-cameras of 48MP (main, F/1.8) + 8MP (wide-angle, F/2.2) + 5MP (depth) + 5MP (macro) shooters with LED Flash.

The smartphone measures 164.4 x 75.9 x 8.6 mm and weighs 190 grams. It has 5000mAh battery with 15W Adaptive fast charging support.

The phone runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.1. It has 5G (SA/NSA), Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, USB type-C and GPS/GLONASS. For audio, it has Dolby Atmos and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G price is set at 369 EUR (US$ 437 / Rs. 32,020 approx.) and comes in Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White and Prism Dot Gray colors. It will go on sale in European markets from November.
