Samsung Galaxy Note7 Unpacked event to be held on August 2

We already know that Samsung is working on Galaxy Note7 smartphone. Today Samsung Electronics has started sending press invites for the Note7 Unpacked 2016 event, held on August 2, 2016.
The Note7 launch event will be held in New York at 11AM EDT. Samsung will also hold simultaneous events at Rio de Janeiro in Noon and in London at 4PM. Korean phone maker will also stream the event online.
If rumors are to be believed, this upcoming smartphone is said to have 5.8-Inch display with dual edges at sides. It could have IP68 certifications, 64GB Storage (expandable) and 6GB RAM. There are talks that Note7 could feature 12MP rear camera and 5MP front facing snapper.
A 3600 mAh battery could power the phone. There is a strong possibility that North American regions could have Snapdragon SoC while the rest of the world will get the smartphone with Exynos processors. Official details will be revealed at the launch.

First and foremost though, you might be curious as to why it’s called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will  complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone.
