Samsung Galaxy Note8 goes official – Specs, Features [Updated]

Samsung has just announced its latest flagship phone under its Galaxy Note series called Galaxy Note8. It has IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It can sustain in 1.5 meter fresh water depths for up to 30 minutes.
It has beautiful curves with seamless body. It has fingerprint scanner is virtually flush with the back while its home button is embedded under the phones Infinity display.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has the largest 6.3-inch edge-to-edge Super AMOLED Infinity display that offers 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It has a default Full HD+ resolution but can be changed to 2960 x 1440 Quad HD+ (WQHD+) in settings. The screen has 522ppi pixel density and supports multi-touch as well.
The display’s 18.5:9 aspect ratio offers 14% wider viewing area in landscape mode. Samsung claims that the aspect ratio was made for multi-tasking. It has a multi-window mode that allows two apps. It has App pairing presets that lets you open simultaneously with a tap.
It has 10nm mobile processor combined with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM delivers smooth performance when multi-tasking or playing visually rich games. Depending on the market, the cell phone gets processing power from octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with Adreno 540 GPU or octa-core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU.
Samsung Galaxy Note8 goes official -5The Galaxy Note8 features Vulkan API which makes fast connections between computing and graphics without compromising on performance. There is a full-screen mode in settings for greater view.
The smartphone measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm and weighs 195 grams. It has Hybrid Dual SIM slots (nano + nano / microSD) and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. It is upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo in near future.
It has an 8MP smart auto focus camera at the front for selfies. It is equipped with F/1.7 Aperture, Wide Angle lens and OIS. On the back side is 12MP dual cameras  and LED Flash. First one is a 12MP Dual Pixel snapper with F/1.7 Aperture, wide angle lens and supports OIS. The secondary 12MP snapper at the back houses a telephoto lens with F/2.4 Aperture, OIS, offers up to 10X digital zoom and 2X optical Zoom. Bokeh photos and 4K video recording is also supported.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 also offers Biometric authentication. It has Iris Scanner, Fingerprint scanner, Pattern, Face Recognition, Pin and Password protection. Combining with Samsung Knox, the handset provides ample of security options.
Like all the Galaxy Note series phones, it comes with an improved S Pen. It has improved pressure sensitivity with finer tips. Now, it can quickly translate entire sentences in up to 71 languages just by hovering on text. It also allows one to share animated texts, including GIFs and drawings across platforms. Currencies conversion feature is an added bonus.
It has Gigabit LTE + Gigabit Wi-Fi, capable of getting superior connection speeds. The handset is more than capable to handle up to 1GBPS speeds. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 comes with earphones tuned by AKG. It has 11Φ woofers and 8Φ tweeters that ensures that audio quality is not compromised.
It has 3300 mAh battery that offers both wired and wireless (WPV and PMA) fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0 LE, USB Type-C 3.1, NFC, MST, GPS/GLONASS and 3.5mm Audio jack.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 pre-order starts from August 24, 2017 at most carriers and will start shipping from September 15th. The cell phone comes in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Deep Sea Blue and Orchid Grey colors.
