Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 5G with Snapdragon 855+ SoC, Quantum Security Chip unveiled

Samsung, in partnership with SK Telecom of South Korea, has announced a new smartphone called Galaxy Quantum 2 5G (SM-A826S). It is same handset which is expected to launch in global markets as Galaxy A82.

Specifications of Galaxy Quantum 2 include 6.7-incgh Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display boasting a 3200 x 1440 pixels resolution and delivers up to 1300nits brightness. In FHD+ mode, on can get 120Hz refresh rate.

Powering inside is octa-core Snapdragon 855 Plus mobile platform with Adreno 640 GPU (640Hz). It has QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generator) chipset inside which is just 2.5 x 2.5 mm (wide x long) size. It is also world’s first 5G smartphone to feature QRNG.

The Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 feature 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 3.0 storage space and allows further expansion up to 1TB using MicroSD card. The smartphone has pre-installed Android 11 with One UI 3.1. The device measures 161.9 x 73.8 x 8.1 mm and weigh 176 grams.

For secure unlocking, the Galaxy Quantum 2 has in-display fingerprint sensor. A 10MP camera sits at front with F/2.2 Aperture. For rear optics, Samsung has included 64MP (main, F/1.8, OIS), 12MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.2) and 5MP (depth, F/2.4) cameras with LED Flash.

For energy, it has 4500mAh battery capacity with 25W fast charging support. Connectivity options include 5G (SA/NSA) / 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), VHT80, Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C, NFC and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

The Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 price is set at 699,600 won (US$ 622 / Rs. 46,940 approx.) and comes in White, Gray and Light Violet colors. It is already up for order in Korea at SK Telecom and will start selling from April 23rd. [source]
