Samsung officially unveils its latest 5G flagship smartphones. The lineup includes vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
These come with iconic Contour Cut design with Armor Aluminum frame. They come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection at front and back. All of these boasts IP68 water resistant rating.
Samsung Galaxy S22 / Galaxy S22+ specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S22 has dimensions of 146 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm and weighs 168g rams. It comes with a smaller 3700mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging and 15W Qi wireless charging (with Wireless share).
The Galaxy S22 feature in a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x Infinity-O display that offers FHD+ resolution, 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate (in gaming mode), up to 1300nits brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus specs include a larger 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display with FHD+ resolution. It has same 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling however, it delivers up to 1750nits of brightness. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ is present as well.
The Galaxy S22+ come with a slightly larger 4500mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging, 15W Qi-Wireless charging and Wireless Power Share. The handset itself measures 157.4 x 75.8 x 7.6 mm and weighs 196 grams.
Depending of the region, these come with either octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform OR octa-core Samsung Exynos 2200 processor. These have 8GB RAM and has 128GB/256GB storage options.
They offer dual-SIM connectivity and supports both 5G (SA/NSA) and dual 4G VoLTE. They run on Android 12 with One UI 4.1 out of the box. For optics, these have 10MP front camera with F/2.2 Aperture. At the back side are triple cameras making up of 50MP (main, 1/1.57″ ISOCELL GN5, F/1.8, 1.0um pixels, OIS) + 12MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.2) + 10MP (telephoto, F/2.4, 3x optical zoom, OIS) cameras. Both mobiles support 4K video at 60fps and 8K at 30fps.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi6 / Wi-Fi 6E (in S22+) 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5Ghz), Bluetooth V5.2, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, MSC, USB 3.1, and UWB (in S22 plus).
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specifications
The Ultra model is the premium in S22 Series and replaces Samsung Note Series. The smartphone comes with IP68 water and dust resistant rating.
The smartphone measures 163 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm and weighs 229 grams. It has dual Nano SIM slots and supports 5G (SA/NSA) / 4G VoLTE. It runs on Android 12 based One UI 4.1 out of the box.
The device comes with built-in S Pen Stylus and uses Wacom tech. The S-Pen boasts 70% lower latency when compared with last years S21 ultra.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra specs include a 6.8-inch Infinity-O Edge Dynamic AMOLED display offering 2088 x 1440 pixels resolution, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate (in game mode), up to 1750nits brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. The device boasts an in-display ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
The Ultra model comes with Ultra-wideband capabilities (UWB). Depending on market, it comes with octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform OR Exynos 2200 processor. Samsung has uses new Gel-TIM thermal paste that is capable of transferring heat with 3.5x efficiency. The handset comes with a thinner yet durable vapor chamber which is made of double-bonded stainless steel that covers wider area.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage or 12GB RAM with 256GB/512GB/1TB storage options. It has a powerful 5000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging and 15W Qi Wireless charging.
For optics, it has 108MP (main, F/1.8, OIS) + 12MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.2) + 10MP (Telephoto, 3x zoom, F/2.4, OIS) + 10MP (periscope, F/4.9, 10x zoom, 100x space zoom, LF) cameras at back with LED Flash. It supports 4K at 60fps and 8K at 30fps. At the front side is a 40MP selfie camera with F/2.2 Aperture lens.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Dual Band, Bluetooth V5.2, USB 3.1, NFC, MST and GPS/GLONASS.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 / S22 Plus comes in Phantom White, Phantom Black, Green and Pink colors. Other colors like Graphite, Cream, Sky Blue and Violet will be available online exclusively (depending on markets). Both of these mobiles are up for pre-order and will start shipping from March 11th.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra color options include Burgundy, Phantom Black, Phantom White and Green colors. It will sell online in exclusive colors of Graphite, Red and Sky Blue. The mobile is up for pre-roder and will start shipping from February 25th.
Update 17/2/22: Samsung has officially launched Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones in India. The Indian variant of Galaxy S22 Series will house octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC inside.
The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus models come in Phantom Black, Phantom White and Green colors. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has Phantom Black, Phantom White and Burgundy color options.
