AT&T and Samsung Electronics America have come together and are brining its new Galaxy S7 Active smartphone exclusive at AT&T.
It is a rugged Android Phone that packs in a huge 4000 mAh non-removable battery inside. It is largest battery amongst Galaxy S devices, capable of providing about 32 hours of talk time and full charges up in less than 2 hours.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active specs include 5.1-Inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution at 575ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by 2.15GHz Quad Core 64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB RAM.
The phone measures 148.8 x 75 x 9.9 mm and weighs 185 grams. it has 32GB internal storage ROM and MicroSD Card slot that allows further expansion up to 200GB (sold separately). This is also the first Galaxy Active device to feature Fingerprint sensor. It is IP68 certified and MIL STD-810G rated, making it water resistant and shatter resistant.
The mobile features 12MP primary camera on the back and makes use of Dual Pixel technology has has F/1.7 Aperture lens. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera as well. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and includes KNOX, Samsung;s defence-grade mobile security platform, implemented at chip level for security.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be available on AT&T Next at US$ 26.50 / month for 30 months of AT&T Next Every Year(SM) at US$ 33.13 / month for 24 months. The phone comes in Sandy Gold, Titanium Gray and Cameo Green colours and can be ordered starting June 10, 2016, Friday via AT&T stores.
Users opting for Galaxy S7 Active can get Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch with NumberSync for free with two years agreement and purchase on AT&T Next. Those who order two phones can avail up to US$ 695 in bill credits over 30 months. Buyers can also get Galaxy Tab E for US$ 0.99 on 2 year agreement as well.
