Samsung Galaxy Watch officially announced – Specs [Updated]

Samsung has just announced Galaxy Watch, its latest smartwatch. It was announced at Galaxy Unpacked event along with Galaxy Note9 smartphone.

The Galaxy Watch comes in 42mm and 46mm variants both with 1.2-inch and 1.3-inch displays respectively. They are IP68 + 5ATM Rated for water resistance and complies with MIL-STD-810G durability standards.

Their circular Super AMOLED Displays are always on and offers Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ protection. It has NFC and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) support for mobile payments using Samsung Pay.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch features in built-in speakers for active voice messaging and music listening. GPS support further enhances usability. This smart wrist wear has new stress management tracker which detects high level of stress and offers breathing exercises.

It has sleep tracker which tracks all level of sleep. Samsung claims that it can track total of 39 workouts along with calorie tracking and personalized alerts.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 42mm price is set at $329.99 (Rs. 22,700 approx.) while the Galaxy Watch 46mm costs $349.99 (Rs. 24,070 approx.). The smartwatch will go on pre-order from August 10th and will be available from August 24th. The Galaxy Watch LTE model will be available later in 2018.

UPDATE (10/Oct/2019): Samsung has officially launched Galaxy Watch 4G in India. The 42mm variant is priced at Rs. 28,490 while its larger 46mm variant costs Rs. 30,990. The smartwatch will be available at all offline channels, Samsung Opera House, Samsung e-Shope and leading e-commerce platforms. There are several affordability schemes attached.
