Samsung, at its Galaxy Unpacked event, has officially introduced its latest flip smartphone called Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. It is first foldable mobile phone to feature IPX8 rating for water resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 comes with a single eSIM and a Nano SIM slot and has support for 5G (SA/NSA/sub6/mmWave) and 4G VoLTE. It runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 out of the box.
When folded, this flip phone measures 72.2 x 86.4 x 15.9 – 19.1 mm. When you unfolded it, the device measurements go at 166 x 72.2 x 6.9 mm. Total weight of this handset is 183 grams. It has Armour Aluminum frame which is strongest one yet.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display (with Ultra-Thin Glass) and offers 2640 x 1080 pixels resolution at 22:9 aspect ratio. It offers 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 425ppi pixel density and boasts Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top. The mobile also sports a larger 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover display at the back. It has 260 x 512 pixels resolution at 302ppi pixel density.
Featuring inside is octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes in options of 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space. It has side mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is powered by 3300mAh (typical) battery and supports 15W fast charging. It also supports 10W Qi wireless charging and 4.5W reverse charging.
For optics, Samsung has included 10MP front camera with F/2.4 Aperture. At the back side are dual cameras with LED Flash. It includes primary 12MP wide-angle shooter with Super Speed dual-pixel F/1.8 Aperture and 1.4um pixel size. Paired with it is another 12MP ultra-wide camera with F/2.2 Aperture and 1.22um pixel size. These cameras support HDR10+, 8X digital zoom, OIS and 4K video at 60fps.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 has stereo speakers and support Dolby Atmos. It has USB Type-C audio. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.1 LE, ANT+, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C and NFC.
