Along Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Samsung has also unveiled its new Fold series foldable smartphone called Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. It was introduced at Unpacked event.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G has IPX8 water resistant rating and houses a fingerprint sensor at side. It has dual SIM support which includes a Nano Slot and eSIM. The device is powered by Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on top.
When folded, the cellphone measures 67.1 x 158.2 x 16.0 mm (hinge) – 14.4 mm (sagging). When unfolded, it measures 128.1 x 158.2 x 6.4 mm. Total weight of this mobile is 271 grams. It has Armour Aluminum frame with is strongest aluminum frame till date.
Externally, Galaxy Z Fold3 5G feature a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display offering 2268 x 832 pixels resolution at 24.5:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 387ppi pixel density and 1000nits (HBM) / 1500nits (peak) brightness. When unfolded, you get a 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display inside with 2208 x 1768 pixels resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 374ppi pixel density and 900nits (HBM) / 1200nits (Peak) brightness. These screens have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Powering inside this foldable cellphone is an octa-core Snapdragon 888 mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. It has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB / 512GB UFS 3.1 storage options. The handset also supports S Pen and has two options – S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro. Both of these have retractable Pro tips with force limit technology.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G specs also include 10MP cover camera t front with F/2.2 Aperture. At the back side are triple cameras and LED flash. These make up of 12MP (main, F/1.8, PDAF, OIS) + 12MP (telephoto, F/2.4, PDAF,OIS, 2x Optical / 10x digital zoom) + 12MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.2) shooters. Notably, the rear cameras have Super Clear glass with Corning Gorilla Glass DX on top.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 has 4400mAh battery and supports 25W wired fast charging. It also has support for 10W wireless (WPC/PMA) and 4.5W reverse charging as well. For connectivity, it has dual Nano SIM slots with 5G (SA/NSA/Sub6/mmWave) and dual 4G VoLTE. Additionally, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 6e 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), MIMO, HE160, 1024-QAM, Bluetooth V5.2 LE, USB 3.2 Type-C, dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo, MST and NFC.
