Samsung has officially announced its latest foldable smartphone in China called W22 5G. It is successor to last year’s Samsung W21 5G.
The Samsung Galaxy W22 5G is priced at 16,999 Yuan ($2640 / Rs. 1,98,750 approx.) and comes in Porcelain Black color (with gold hints). It is available in Chinese markets at company’s official site.

This particular smartphone has measurements of 158.2 x 67.1 x 16.0 – 14.4 mm (folded) and weighs just about 288 grams. When unfolded, the cellphone dimensions are 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4 mm.
The W22 5G comes with IPX8 water resistant rating and houses Armour Aluminum frame. It has dual nano SIM slots inside and supports 5G (SA/NSA) and dual 4G VoLTE. The mobile boots on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on top.
This mobile phone feature a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x Cover Display with 2268 x 832 pixels resolution at 24.5:9 aspect. It offers 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 387ppi pixel density, 1000nits (HBM) / 1500nits (Peak) brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top.
The Samsung W22 5G includes a main 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2208 x 1768 pixels resolution, 22.5:18 aspect ratio, 374ppi pixel density, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 900nits (HBM) / 1200nits (Peak) brightness. These screen support S-Pen Stylus.
Powering inside this folding smartphone is an octa-core Snapdragon 888 mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. It has 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage space. The device includes a 4400mAh battery and supports 25W wired / 10W Wireless (WPS/PMA) / 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The Samsung W22 5G specs include 4MP under display front camera with F/1.8 Aperture. It has 10MP cover front camera with F/2.2 Aperture. At the back side are triple cameras with LED flash, Super clear glass and Corning Gorilla Glass DX protection. These shooters include 12MP (main, F/1.8, OIS, PDAF), 12MP (telephoto, F/2.4, OIS, PDAF, 2x optical / 10x digital zoom) and 12MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.2).
For connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), HE160, 1024-QAM, MIMO, Bluetooth V5.2 LE, USB Type-C Gen 3.2, GPS/GLONASS and NFC. It has stereo speakers and supports Dolby Atmos.
