Samsung working on 11nm LPP based Chip with EUV Technology

Samsung, a global leader in smartphone market is also one of the top shots in Semi Conductor business. Today, company has announced that it is working on 7nm and 11nm  chips for smartphones.
Samsung has added 11nm LPP (Low Power Plus) to its advanced foundry process portfolio. When compared with 14LPP process, the 11nm offers up to 15% better performance. It’s chip are has been reduced by 10% while its power consumption is the same.
The South Korean Tech Giant also confirmed that 10nm FinFET process for mobile processors will largely go in premium flagship phones while its 7nm LPP will feature in mid-to-high end smartphones.
The development of 7LPP with EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) Lithography technology is on schedule. Samsung has managed to achieve 80 percent yield for 256 megabit (MB) SRAM (Static random-access memory).
One can expect 7nm LPP based chips for testing in Q1 2018. Initial productions are expected in second half of 2017.

Samsung has added the 11nm process to our roadmap to offer advanced options for various applications. Through this, Samsung has completed a comprehensive process roadmap spanning from 14nm to 11nm, 10nm, 8nm, and 7nm in the next three years.
