Second generation automated development vehicle Acura RLX Sports Hybrid SH-AWD unveiled in California

Acura has revealed its latest car, a modified version of RLX Sports Hybrid SH-AWD luxury performance sedan. The vehicle was unveiled at California and is company’s second generation automated development vehicle.
It is highly reliable and makes use of overlapping information fused togather from various sensors.Its sensor fusion allows test engineers to validate information from each sensor with pin-point accuracy. It can detect relative position and velocity of off-board objects while its camera system is best suited to detect objects based on size and shape.This same concept of AcuraWatch and driver-assistive suite is available on all 2016 models of Acura sedans and SUV’s.
This modified RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is a second generation automated development vehicle and is equipped with new suite of redar, Lidar, Camera and GPS sensors. It also has higher performance GPU’s and CPU’s along with improved cabling, heat management and circuitry. It also includes complex and improved intelligent software algorithms for complex testing scenarios.
The vehicle will be tested at Honda Research Institute USA at  GoMentum Station, a 5000-acre automated and connected vehicle proving ground in San Francisco Bay area.This testing program is expected to facilitate company’s goal to introduce automated driving technologies around the year 2020.
