Sharp AQUOS R Compact with 4.9-inch FHD+ screen, Android 8.0 OS announced

Sharp has introduced AQUOS R Compact smartphone for  its 2017 winter lineup. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS out of the box.
The handset is Dust and Water Resistant (IPX5 / IPX8 / IP6X) and comes with fingerprint sensor just under the screen bezel. The device measures 132 x 66 x 9.6 mm and weighs 140 grams.
The Sharp AQUOS R Compact specs include 4.9-inch IGZO LCD multi-touch display with 2032 x 1080 pixels Full HD+ resolution. It has an octa-core (2.2GHz Kryo 260 x 4 + 1.8GHz Kryo 260 x 4) 14nm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform with Adreno 512 GB.
The phone houses 3GB LPDDR4X RAM, 32GB internal storage space and allows further expansion up to 256GB using MicroSD Card. It has 2500 mAh battery that powers the hardware.
Sharp-AQUOS-R-compact-image-2The AQUOS R Compact features in 16.4MP primary camera at the back with dual-ton LED Flash and supports PDAF and CAF as well. For selfies, there is an 8MP front facing camera for quality selfies.
The mobile is equipped with Hybrid Dual SIM slots, both nano with one doubling up for MicroSD Card. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C, GPS + GLONASS etc.
The Sharp AQUOS R Compact will be available in Japan in December via local operator SoftBank. The handset comes in White, Black, Purple and Yellow colors. Exact pricing details will be revealed at the time of availability.
