Sharp AQUOS R2 Compact with dual-notch, SD845, Android 9.0 announced

Sharp has introduced a new smartphone called AQUOS R2 Compact. It has a dual notch design of which top notch top notch houses 8MP front facing selfie camera (with face recognition) and the bottom notch sports a fingerprint sensor.
At the back side of the phone is a single 22.6MP camera with F/1.9 Aperture, OIS, PDAF and LED flash. The smartphone has dimensions of 131 x 64 x 9.3 mm and has weight of 131 grams.
The Sharp AQUOS R2 Compact is IPX5 – IPX8 / IP6X rated for water and dust resistance. The device runs on latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system. It has 2500 mAh battery with fast charging support.
Sharp AQUOS R2 Compact photo -1The phone features in 5.2-inch IGZO LCD display with 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well for durability.
Internal hardware makes up of 2.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 mobile platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 4GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB UFS storage space and allows further expansion up to 512GB using MicroSD card.
Usual connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0, GPS/GLONASS and USB Type-C are present.
The Sharp AQUOS R2 Compact comes in Deep White, Smokey Green and Pure Black colors. It will go on sale in Japan in January 2019. Pricing will out at the time of launch.
