Sharp AQUOS R2 with 6-inch Quad HD+ display, Snapdragon 845, dual rear camera announced

Sharp has announced its latest flagship smartphone called AQUOS R2. It is successor to last years AQUOS R and packs in premium specs.
The device measures 156 x 74 x 9 mm and weighs 181 grams. It has IPX5 / IPX8 / IP6X rating for water and dust resistance. It has front facing fingerprint sensor is powered by Android 8.0 Oreo OS.
The Sharp AQUOS R2 specs include 6-inch IGZO LCD Display with 3040 x 1440 pixels Quad HD+ resolution, Dolby Vision and 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen offers 100Hz refresh rate and supports multi-touch as well.

Under the hood is 2.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 4GB LPDD4X RAM, 64GB UFS storage space and allows further expansion up to 400GB using MicroSD card.
The phone features in 16.3MP front facing camera for selfies. At the back side is 12.6MP  + 16.3MP (135-degree wide angle lens) dual rear cameras with LED Flash. The rear shooters can also record 4K / 2K videos and comes with AI Live shutter support (take pictures automatically during video recording).
For enhanced audio, the AQUOS R2 features in Dolby Atomos and Dolby AC-4 for enhanced audio experience. It is also world’s first smartphone to offer both Dolby features. There is a 3130 mAh fast charging battery.
Connectivity wise, it supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C and GPS.
The Sharp AQUOS R2 comes in several color options – Premium Black, Platinum White, Aqua Marine, Rose Red and Coral Pink. The smartphone will be available later this summer. Pricing details were not revealed.
