Sharp AQUOS R5G escapes to Taiwan

The Sharp AQUOS R5G flagship smartphone, which was announced in Japan back in February, has now landed in Intentional market. Company has launched the handset in Taiwan.

The AQUOS R5G comes with several water resistant ratings (IPX5 / IPX6 / IP6X) and includes biometric features like Fingerprint sensor and face unlock. It is powered by Android 10 OS and includes a 3730mAh fast charging batter.

The smartphone sits with a 6.5-inch IGZO Liquid Crystal HDR10 display with QuadHD+ resolution, 19.8:9 aspect ratio and delivers a peak of 1000nits brightness. It offers 120Hz refresh rate for additional smoothness and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for added scratch resistance.

The Sharp AQUOS R5G specs include octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage space. At the back side is a quad camera setup of 12MP (Telephoto, 52mm FOV, F/2.7 Aperture, OIS) + 48MP (ulra-wide angle, 4-in-1 Quad bayer tech, 19mm equivalent, F/2.9, EIS) + 12.2MP (standard, F/1.7, Dual Pixel OIS) + 3D ToF sensor. For selfies it has 16.4MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture.

The Sharp AQUOS R5G price in Taiwan is NT 34,990 ($1188 approx.) and comes in White and Black colors. It will go on sale from July 6th.
