Sharp has officially unveiled its latest AQUOS Series smartphone in Japan called AQUOS R7. It is powered by Android 12 OS out of the box.

The Sharp AQUOS R7 comes with IPX5 / IPX8 / IP6X water resistant rating. It comes with Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. It has support for Face recognition as well.

The phone comes with 6.6-inch Pro IGZO OLED display that gives 2730 x 1260 pixels resolution. It offers 1Hz-240Hz variable refresh rate and supports multi-touch.

The AQUOS R7 specs include octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform with Adreno next-gen GPU. The chipset is paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and has 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space.

The smartphone packs a 12.6MP front CMOS camera with F/2.3 Aperture and 27mm focal length. At the back side is a 47.2MP main 1-inch Leica Sumicron lens (1.8 times brighter than predecessor) with F/1.9 Aperture, EIS and 19mm focal length. It supports All-pixel octa PDAF focusing. There is a second 1.9MP ToF AF low light lens as well.

The Sharp AQUOS R7 feature in a 5000mAh battery capacity with fast charging support. Connectivity options include 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS and NFC.

The Sharp AQUOS R7 comes in Silver and Black colors. It will go on sale in Japan in July 2022. It will land at NTT DoCoMo and Softbank. [source]
