Sharp Basio 2 with 5-Inch 720p display, Snapdragon 617, physical buttons announced

Sharp has introduced its latest smartphone in Japan called the Basio 2 SHV36. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and houses physical phone, home and message buttons.
These buttons give quick access to dialer / call logs, emails and text messages. Moreover, bottom part of the phone’s display can be used to define three shortcuts for frequently used contacts. It also comes with build-in magnifier.
The Sharp Basio 2 (SHV36) features IPX5 / IPX8 / IP5X certification as well, for protection against water and dust. The phone has dimensions of 143 x71 x 9.3 ~ 12 mmm and weighs about 150 grams.
The smartphone houses 5-Inch IGZO display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It has S-PureLED, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and has wide viewing angles as well.
Under the hood is (1.5GHz x 4 + 1.2GHz x4) Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 MSM8952 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2GB RAM, 16GB storage ROM and supports further expansion up to 200GB using MicroSD card.

The Sharp Basio 2 features a 13MP CMOS back-illuminated stacked camera at the rear comes with LED Flash, Auto Focus, Lens correction, digital zoom etc. There is a physical shutter button as well. On the front is 5MP selfie snapper equipped with wide-angle-lens with 24mm focal length.
The handset is powered by 2810 mAh battery that fully charges in 130 minutes using common AC adapter 05 (sold separately). It gives about 19.5 hours of VoLTE talk time and up to 820 hours of 4G standby.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.2, GPS etc.
The Sharp Basio 2 SHV36 comes in Red, Blue and Gold colour options and will be available in Japan from August 5, 2016.
