Sony HT-ZF9 soundbar with virtual 3D surround sound unveiled

Sony has announced HT-Z59 sound bar which is world’s first 3.1-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar. Company also unveiled HT-XF9000 soundbar equipped with front 2-channel speakers.
The HT-ZF9 and HT-XF9000 soundbars are designed to complement selection of new Sony BRAVIA TVs, boasting stylish setup. They are ideal for minimalist interiors and easily blends in to living space. They connect with your TV via Bluetooth, thus eliminating the need for wires.
The Sony HT-ZF9 is equipped with Vertical Surround Engine for 3D surround sound. It supports Dolby Atmost and DTS:X and can produce real life sound. It also includes S-Force Pro Front Surround technology which improves the front surround sound field. It has ‘Vertical S’ button on remote that can up-mix even 2ch stereo content up to 7.1 2ch and thereby create height.

Moreover, one can also add a pair of SA-Z9R rear speakers which are exclusively designed to partner with HT-ZF9. The Soundbar also supports 4K HDR and Dolby Vision pass-through, high-resolution Audio Formats including playback from USB source, Bluetooth connection (thanks to DSEE HX) etc.
The HT-ZF9 sound bar is Wi-Fi enabled and comes with built-in Chromecast. It also works with Google Assistant that allows access to music just with voice commands. It also allows playing and streaming of music just like a regular Bluetooth speaker. You can also connect multiple devices to your soundbar (Both models) thanks to 2 HDMI in and one Out port.
The Sony HT-ZF9 price is set at £600 while the HT-XF900 model costs £450. Both of them will be available from Spring 2018.
