Sony at IFA 2016 has announced its latest Xperia X Series smartphone called the Xperia XZ. It is equipped with Fingerprint sensor on the power button and is IP65/IP68 rated for water resistance.
The smartphone measures 146 x 72 x 8.1 mm and weighs 161 grams. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and comes in optional single / dual SIM versions.
The Sony Xperia XZ Specs include 5.2-Inch Triluminos Display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has Corning Gorilla Glass protection and supports multi-touch as well.
Internal hardware makes up of quad-core Snapdragon 820 64-bit 14nm processor, Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB RAM. It comes in 32GB / 64GB (Dual SIM) storage options and allows further expansion up to 256GB using MicroSD card.
It has 2900 mAh battery that supports Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging Technology. The smartphone also comes bundled with DSEE HX, LDAC and allows Digital Noise cancellation as well.
The Sony Xperia XZ features in a 23MP camera unit on the back. It has Exmor RS Sensor, 1/2.3-inch sensor size, F/2.0 lens, 5-axis stabilization, supports predictive hybrid AF and takes 4K videos as well. On the front side is powerful 13MP snapper for selfies. It is equipped with 1/3-Inch Exmor RS sensor, F/2.0 22mm wide-angle-lens and records 1080p videos. The mobile also comes with dedicated camera shutter button.
This mobile phone has all the connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth V4.2, GPS / GLONASS, USB Type-C, NFC etc.
The Sony Xperia XZ release dated some time in October 2016. It comes in Platinum, Mineral Black and Forest Blue colors. Pricing details were not revealed.
