Specs of HTC U12 (codenamed HTC Imagine) surfaces

HTC is working on U11 successor flagship phone called HTC U12. According to the latest leakes, the handset is code-named as HTC Imagine.
A known leakster @LlabTooFeR has revealed most of the specifications of HTC U12. For starters, the will be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. It will be powered by Android 8.0 Oreo OS with HTC Sense 10 on top.
HTC will bring in Face Unlock feature along with its unique Edge Sense 2.0. The tipster also revealed that U12 will be offered in single and Dual SIM options and house a 3420 mAh fast charging battery.
Other leaked specifications include 5.99-inch Super LCD6 display with 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU.
The tipster mentions up to 6GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, which means that there might be a 4GB RAM model with storage options ranging from 64GB / 128GB / 256GB. The storage will be further expandable up to 2TB using MicroSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the upcoming HTC U12 is expected with 12MP HTC UltraPixel + 16MP secondary rear cameras. They are believed to feature in Sony IMX3xx series sensors. At the front side, the handset might come with 8MP shooter for selfies.
Support for usual connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Dual Band, Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS, NFC is also expected.
The HTC U12 is expected to go official next month in April 2018. Exact dates or pricing of the handset have not surfaced.
