The smartwatch market is booming. A Swiss Watch maker Tag Heuer has announced its latest smartwatch called Connected Modular 45.
It runs on Android Wear 2.0 and is compatible with Android 4.3+ / iOS 9+. The smartwatch is water resistance up to 50 meters (50ATM).
The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 is very customizable. It has changeable watchband, lugs, buckle etc. Moreover, users can also replace Connected Smartwatch Module with a mechanical one (Calibre 5 or premium Heuer 02T Tourbillon)
It offers 11 different designs with 45 additional options, making a total of 56 options. Company claims that there are more than 500 different combinations. The smartwatch sports a legitimate 3-hand mechanical tourbilllon and comes with “Swiss Made” certification.
The watch maker has partnered with Intel to bring in Atom Z34XX processor. It has 512MB RAM and 4GB Storage ROM. It is powered by 410 mAh battery that offers a minimum of 25 hours of battery life (typical usage).
There are array of sensor like Accelerometer, gyroscope, tilt detection sensor, microphone, vibrations/ haptics engine and ambient light sensor. This smartwatch also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth V4.1 LE, GPS and NFC payment.
The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 price starts at US$ 1650 (£1,400 / €1550 approx). If you are into premium smartwatch, there is a Deluxe box set that will cost US$ 17,000. It includes connected Modular 45 in grade 5 titanium, with titanium lugs and brown natural leather strap. It also includes COSC-certified chronograph Heuer-02T tourbillon mechanical module, plus an additional black rubber strap.
The Connected Modular 45 will start rolling out in US, UK, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. Company has also confirmed that its previous gen Connected watch will get Android Wear 2.0 update from today.
