A new S Series smartphone from VIVO called VIVO S9 has been introduced in China. It is powered by Android 11 based OriginOS 1.0.
The VIVO S9 comes with Dual Nano SIM slots with support for Dual 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G voLTE. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.
The phone boasts a 6.44-inch AMOLED HDR10+ display offering 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution at 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen supports up to 90Hz refresh rate, 98% NTSC color gamut, 3000000:1 contrast ratio, up to 1300nits brightness and 91.04% screen-to-body ratio.
The VIVO S9 specs include octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1100 processor with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It has options of 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage or 12GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 ROM.
The smartphone itself measures 158.39 x 73.87 x 7.35 mm and weighs 173 grams. It has 4000mAh battery inside with 33W fast charging support. The device comes with super linear speakers but lacks 3.5mm headphone jack (USB Type-C audio supported).
The VIVO S9 features dual front cameras. These include 44MP (main, F/2.2, Auto Focus, 4K, Vlog mode) + 8MP (105° ultra-wide, F/2.28) snappers with dual soft LED Flash. At the back side are triple-cameras making up of 64MP (main, F/1.7, 0.8um, OIS) + 8MP (119° ultra-wide, F/2.2) + 2MP (macro, F/2.4) shooters and LED Flash.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.1, USB Type-C, NFC, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou etc.
The VIVO S9 8GB/128GB is priced at 2999 Yuan ($463 / Rs. 33,780 approx.) while its 12GB/256GB model costs 3299 Yuan ($510 / Rs. 37,170 approx.). It comes in White, Midnight Blue and Gradient Blue colors. The cellphone will go on sale in China from March 12th and is up for order.
VIVO has also unveiled VIVO S9e smartphone along side S9. It has specifications similar to S9. The S9e model comes with octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC and is powered by 4100mAh battery capacity. It includes 32MP single selfie camera with water-drop notch.
The VIVO S9e 8GB/128GB model is priced at 2399 Yuan ($370 / Rs. 27,030 approx.) while its 8GB/256GB model costs 2699 Yuan ($418 / Rs. 30,400 approx.). The mobile is already up for order in China and will start selling from March 27th. It comes in Obsidian Black, Aurora Blue and Diamond Crystal colors.
