VIVO X80 / X80 Pro smartphones announced

VIVO has officially unveiled its latest X80 Series smartphones in China called VIVO X80 and VIVO X80 Pro.

Both of these are already up for order in China and will go on sale from April 29th.

The vanilla X80 comes with a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED display that offers 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, MEMC and delivers 1300nits peak brightness.

The phone measures 164.95 x 75.23 x 8.30 mm (black) – 8.79mm (Orange / Blue) and weighs 206 grams (Black / Blue) – 203 grams (orange) respectively.

These come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and dual Nao SIM slots. The handset boots with ANdroid 12 based OriginOS Ocean (Funtouch OS 12 in global markets).

Powering inside is a 3.05GHz octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor with Mali-G710 10-core GPU. It has options of 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 internal memory. It has 4285mm² VC cooling system with 41266mm² large cooling area.

The VIVO X80 specs include 50MP (main, 1/1.49″ Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor, F/1.75, OIS) + 12MP (ultra-wide, Sony IMX663 sensor, F/2.0) + 12MP (Portrait, Sony IMX663 sensor, 50mm 2x portrait, F/1.98, 20x super zoom) cameras at back with LED Flash. The module comes with ZEISS Optics, Zeiss T* coating and V1+ dedicated imaging chip for better camera performance. For selfies there is a 32MP front camera with F/2.45 Aperture.

The VIVO X80 feature in 4500mAh battery capacity and allows 80W fast charging. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.3, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen1, Type-C audio and dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo.

The Pro variant measures 154.57 x 75.3 x 9.10 mm and weighs 215 grams (black) / 219 grams (Blue, Orange) respectively. The handset boasts an IP68 water resistant rating and comes with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The VIVO X80 Pro sports a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED LTPO display that offers 3200 x 1440 pixels QHD+ resolution, 1hz-120hz variable refresh rate and MEMC support.

Depending on model and market, the X80 Pro comes in options of Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Mobile platform with Adreno 730 GPU or Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 with Mali-G710 GPU.

It has 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 storage space. The smartphone includes 2961mm² VC cooling and 46089mm² cooling area. The handset comes pre-installed with Android 12 with OriginOS Ocean (Funtouch OS 12 in global markets).

The VIVO X80 Pro feature in 32MP front camera with F/2.45 Aperture. At the back side is a combination of quad-cameras and LED Flash. These include 50MP (main, 1/1.3″ Samsung GNV sensor, F/1.57, OIS) + 48MP (ultra-wide, Sony IMX598 sensor, F/2.2) + 12MP (Portrait, Sony IMX663 sensor, 500mm 2x, F/1.85, Gimbal) + 8MP (periscope, OIS, F/3.4, 5x optical zoom, 60x super zoom, Laser AF). The cameras come with ZEISS T* coating with ZEISS Optics and V1+ chip.

The VIVO X80 Pro specs include a 4700mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging and 10W wireless reverse charging.

The cell phone houses dedicated dual SIM slots and supports 5G SA/NSA and dual 4G VoLTE. It has stereo speakers with CS43131 Hi-Fi AMP and supports USB Type-C audio. It has support for Wi-Fi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2 (V5.3 in VIVO X80 Pro Dimensity Edition), USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 and dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo.
