VIVO Y21e with Snapdragon 680 SoC launched in India

VIVO has silently launched a new Y Series smartphone in India called Y21e. It is priced in India at INR 12,990 (US$175 approx.) and comes in Midnight Black and Diamond Glow colors.

VIVO Y21e Specifications

The smartphone comes with a plastic build and has dimensions of 164.26 x 76.08 x 8.0 mm. It weighs 182 grams and offers dual SIM connectivity (nano slots).

The device runs on Funtouch OS 12 however, vivo has not cleared if its based on Android 11 or Android 12. A fingerprint sensor is placed at side for biometrics.

The VIVO Y21e specs include a 6.51-inch LCD display that gives 1600 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 89% screen-to-body ratio. The handset has an additional Eye Protection Mode that filters out blue light.

Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 680 mobile platform with Adreno 610 GPU. It has 3GB RAM and supports 0.5GB virtual RAM. The cell phone includes 64GB built-in storage space. It supports further expansion using MicroSD card (dedicated slot).

The Y21e feature an 8MP front facing camera with F/1.8 Aperture and Face Unlock support. At the back side are dual cameras which include 13MP main (F/2.2) and 2MP macro (F/2.4) lenses and LED flash.

It includes a 5000mAh (typical) battery and supports 18W fast charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo/QZSS and 3.5mm audio jack.

There are array of sensors like Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Proximity, Virtual Gyroscope and E-Compass. FM Radio is supported.
