Xiaomi’s Black Shark has officially introduced its latest gaming smartphone called Black Shark 2. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie OS and houses Dual Nano SIM slots.
The device measures 163.61 x 75.01 x 8.77 mm and weighs 205 grams. It has Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology, which is a tower-wide cooling system that makes use of liquid cooled tube and liquid cooled plates. It is claimed to reduce CPU’s core temperature by up to 14-degrees.
The Black Shark 2 features in RGB logo at the back. It has all new ‘X-Style’ antenna design which offers better reception. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for better unlocking. The device also includes hidden press sensitive controls for display and AI Gaming experience.
The handset packs in 6.390nich multi-touch AMOLED HDR display with 240Hz touch response rate. It has 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 430 nits brightness and 108.9% DCI-P3 color gamut. It has touch algorithm optimizations specially for gaming.
At its core, Black Shark 2 features in octa-core (2.84GHz Kryo 485 x 1 + 2.42GHz Kryo 485 x 3 + 1.8GHz Kryo 485 x 4) Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes in options of 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage and 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB UFS 2.1 internal memory.
The Black Shark 2 specifications also include 4000mAh (typical) / 3900 mAh (Minimum) battery with 27W fast charging support. It is said to offer 30 minutes of gaming with just 5 minutes of charging. Usual connectivity options like Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and USB Type-C are present.

The BlackShark 2 comes in Mirage Blue, Shadow Black and Frozen Silver colors. It will be up for order in China from today itself. Global roll out details were not revealed.
