Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition smartphones announced

Xiaomi has officially announced Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition smartphones in China. These flagship smartphones feature in premium specs sheet.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 features in water arc drop design with four curved glass body and 7-series Aluminum frame. It has rear mounted fingerprint sensor. It has IR Face unlock.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor. It has dedicated pressure sensor for quick unlocking. It also supports 3D face recognition which works with advanced structured lighting technology to scan 33000 facial points. The phone phone has transparent back.
Both of these models feature in 6.21-inch AMOLED display with 2248 x 1080 pixels resolution, 18.7:9 aspect ratio and DCI-P3 color gamut. The screen delivers 600nits brightness and 60000:1 contrast ratio.
They are powered by 2.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. The Xiaomi Mi 8 packs in 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB / 128GB / 256GB UFS 2.1 storage ROM. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with 8GB LPPDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage.
They measure 154.9 x 74.8 x 7.6 mm. The Mi 8 weighs 175 grams while Explorer Edition Mi 8 has weight of 177 grams. They come with Dual Nano SIM slots and supports dual 4G VoLTE.
Both mobiles houses 20MP front facing camera with real-time AI portraits. At the back side is 20MP primary rear camera with 1/2.6-inch Sony IMX363 sensor, 26mm wide-angle lens, F/1.8 Aperture, 1.4µm pixel size and dual-tone LED Flash. There is a secondary 12MP rear shooter as well with Samsung S5K3M3 sensor, F/2.4 Aperture, 2 X Zoom and 1µm pixel size.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 specs include 3400 mAh (Typical) / 3300 mAh (minimum) battery with Quick Charge 4+ fast charging. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer edition comes with 3000 mAh (Typical) / 2900 mAh (Minimum) battery and Quick Charge 4+.
Usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) 2X2 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type, Dual Frequency (L1 + L5) is supported.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 comes in White, Black, Gold and Blue colors. Both of these models will go on sale in China from June 5th.
