Xiaomi has announced its latest fitness and sleep tracking band called the Mi Band 2. It comes with heart rate sensor and includes upgraded pedometer algorithm for accurate heart rate tracking. It also has Photoplethysmography (PPG).
This smartband is IP67 certified for water resistance and is made using skin-friendly materials, that stays firm on wrists. It has 0.42-Inch OLED Display with that shows time, steps take and heart rate. The screen has anti-fingerprint coating and scratch resistant glass for added durability.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 features 70mAh Li-Po battery that is said to give 20 days of standby. It connects with smartphones using Bluetooth V4.0 LE. The wristband is ultra weight weighing at just 7 grams. It also monitors sleep and track fitness achievements etc.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is priced at US$ 22 (149 Yuan) and comes in black colour. It has multiple wrist strap colour options like Orange, Black, Blue, Green etc. as well. The smartband is now available from MI.com in China and is slated to ship from June 7, 2016. Company did not reveal details on global roll out.
