Xiaomi, also Google’s Daydream ready device partner, has announced its latest Mi Box. It is a 4K platform powered by Android TV 6.0 and comes bundled with Bluetooth voice remote (with voice search) and has optional Game Controller as well.
It offers 60 Fps 4K video decoding and comes with Quad Core Cortex-A53 CPu with Mali 450 GPU. Inside is 2GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB eMMC storage space.
Mi Box has Dolby Digital Plus and DTS surround sound and supports Bluetooth Voice Remote, powered by 2AAA batteries. It also has optional Mi Game controller.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Dual Band (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.0, HDMI 2.0a x 1 Port (HDCP 2.2), USB 2.0 x 1, SPDIF out / 3.5mm Audio Jack x 1.
It also supports VP9 Profile-2 up to 4K x 2K at 60fps, H.265 HEVC MP-10 at L5.1, up to 4K x 2K at 60fps, H.264 AVC HPat L5.1, up to 4K x 2K at 30fps, H.264 MVC, up to 1080P at 60fps.
The Xiaomi Mi Box will initially launch in USA followed by other global markets. It comes in Black colour option. Pricing and availability details will be revealed at the time of launch.
