Xiaomi has just announced its latest smartphone called the Mi Max alongside its latest MIUI 8 ROM. It has a new material design with several improvements along with new features.
The MIUI 8 ROM comes with redesigned colours that changes according to the weather. It has a new Wallpaper Carousel that automatically changes images on lock screen. It also has option to select from more than 12 image categories.
The latest UI includes new MI Lanting Chinese font as well. It has a new calculator that allows advance calculations and conversions. The MIUI 8 is specially designed to consume less power, reduce lags and prevent unnecessary Applications from starting.
Its new gallery is said to be 90% more efficient in terms of spacing. It has Quick Share controls, doodle on drawings, video editing, adding filters, captions, music etc. It also has New Notes 0 passcode and fingerprint security with new templates.
Now its scanner can generate Wechat / Alipay QR codes. Moreover, MIUI 8 also gets ability to detect fraud messages and scams. It allows multi-windows management and features power saving mode that freezes background app activities, stop syncs, updates, tasks etc.
The MIUI 8 Developer ROM will be available from June 17, 2016 in China for array of MI phones like Mi 2, 2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 5 etc. Registrations for Beta testing will start from May 16, 2016. Details on global availability of ROM were not revealed.
