Xiaomi unveils its flagship folding smartphone in China called Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. It is offered in Black and Gold colors and is up for order. The mobile will go on sale in China from August 16th.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 specs and features
Starting with its displays, it has 6.56-inch external Samsung E5 AMOLED display that offers 2520 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate and sports Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It delivers 1300nits peak brightness and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
Additionally, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 feature an 8.02-inch Eco² OLED LTPO 2.0 foldable screen with 2160x 1914 pixels resolution, 4:3.55 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1400nits peak brightness. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision as well. Gorilla Glass Victus protection is present as well.
The cell phone comes in dimensions of 161.6 x 73.9 (Folded) / 144.7 (unfolded) x 11.2 (folded) / 5.4mm (unfolded) mm. It weighs total of 262 grams. Xiaomi has used various cutting edge technologies to develop Micro Waterdrop Hinge and uses 87 components.
To eliminate creasing on screen, Xiaomi has included one-piece carbon fiber floating plate at the hinge that lifts the flexible panel and outer UTG glass for flatness.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 specs include octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 Mobile platform with Adreno next-gen GPU. It has 12GB LPDDR5 (6400mbps) RAM and comes in 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 3.1 storage options.
The smartphone runs on Android 12 based MIUI 13. It has Dual Nano SIM slots and supports 5G SA / NSA and Dual 4G VoLTE. It includes an IR blaster and side mounted fingerprint sensor for added accessibility.
For optics, MIX Fold 2 boasts a 20MP front camera. At the back side is a combination of 50MP (main, Sony IMX766 sensor, F/1.8 Aperture, OIS) + 13MP (123-degree ultra-wide, F/2.4 Aperture) + 8MP (2x Telephoto, F/2.6 Aperture) cameras along with LED Flash. These are Leica optics with 8K video recording support.
Fueling its hardware is a 4500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. There are dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. Type-C audio is supports. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, NFC and dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo/NavIC.
