Chinese company Xiaomi unveiled its Redmi 5 smartphone in China back in December 2017. Now, company has unveiled its latest Redmi Series smartphone in India.
The handset is powered by Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS with MIUI 9 on top. Its Hybrid dual SIM slots (nano + nano / microSDl offer 4G VoLTE connectivity.
The Redmi 5 features in 5.99-inch 2.5D curved glass display with 2160 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen offers 1000:1 aspect ratio, 450nits brightness and 84% NTSC color gamut.
Its heart beats with 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform (14nm) with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 2GB / 3GB / 4GB RAM options with 16GB / 32GB / 64GB internal memory. Both models allow further expansion using MicroSD card.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 specs include 5MP front facing camera with LED flash. At the back side is 12MP primary camera with dual tone LED flash, F/2.0 Aperture and PDAF support.
The cellphone measures 158.5 x 75.45 x 8.05mm and Weighs about 180 grams. It has rear facing fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking and is powered by 4000mAh typical battery.
Other options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band 2.4GHz + 5GHz), Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, IR sensor etc.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 price in India starts at Rs. 7999 for 2GB RAM, Rs. 8999 for 3GB RAM and Rs. 10999 for 4GB RAM model. All of them comes bundled with clear case. The handset comes in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue colors and will be available at Amazon.in, MI.com and MI Home Store starting March 20th. Reliance Jio customers will be entitled for Rs. 2200 cashback and 100% 4G data.
