Xiaomi has already sent out invites for Redmi 5 or Redmi Note 5 launch event, which slated for February 14, the Valentines day. Today e-commerce giant Flipkart has confirmed that the device will be sold exclusively be e-retailer.
In a Twitter post, Flipkart tagged Gaurav Kapur with a message saying, “Looks like everyone is excited about @XiaomiIndia’s all-rounder that’s 5/5”.
Xiaomi has been teasing this 5 series smartphone at its official website for quite some time now. Company has also released a teaser for it but sadly, it does not give a hint of this smartphone.
For those who are not aware, Xiaomi has already launched Redmi 5 in Chinese markets. It packs in 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display, Snapdragon 450 SoC and 3300 mAh battery. Company has also introduced Redmi 5 Plus which has a larger 5.99-inch display with FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes with Snapdragon 625 SoC and a huge 4000 mAh battery.
Other specifications like 5MP front camera with selfie flash, 12MP rear shooter remains the same. There is a fingerprint sensor as well for quick unlocking and security. Both of these devices runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS with MIUI 9 on top.
There are speculations that Xiaomi could launch Redmi 5 Plus globally as Redmi Note 5. We will have to wait and see. At ending note, Xiaomi will be live streaming the event on Feb 14, 12:00 PM at Mi.com.
