Xiaomi has initiated roll out of MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM for select smartphones.
Users will start receiving OTA updates on their smartphones via updater App. Users can also update in manually via MIUI forum.
The MIUI 8.2 will initially be available for Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi 4i, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G.
Othere devices like Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 4 MTK, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note Prime, Mi 2/2S, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Redmi 3/Prime, Redmi 3S/Prime, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm will get MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM starting February 20, 2017.
The update brings in improved layout for toggles in notification shade. It has new swipe to delete lockscreen notification, new UI adjustments for toggles and brand new system sounds and ringtones. The update will also include new Anti Virus which scans for the apps installed from unknown sources (apart from Google play store).
It will include Battery saver toggle which can be added notification shade. Xiaomi has also optimized Lock screen PIN Layout, changed USB charging and Switching keyboard notifications and removed floating notifications in DND mode.
MIUI 8.2 also brings in several fixes notification shade issue during incoming call floating notifications, Wi-Fi page freezing issue (when opened for the first time), Opacity and landscape issue after using 3rd party themes etc.
Xiaomi has also fixes the problem where first notification couldn’t be removed by a swipe. There are minor adjustments for animations in launcher as well.
MIUI 8.2 China Stable ROM has also started rolling out but sadly it wont have include Smart Assistant.
