Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest MI MIX 4 smartphone in China. It is latest member in its MIX series and offers premium specifications and features.
The MI MIX 4 specs include 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED display which offers 10-bit TrueColor. Its screen offers FHD+ resolution and has support for 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. For added durability, phone’s screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top.
Most talked about feature of MI MIX 4 is its 20MP under-display front camera. Even though, the selfie camera is placed inside screen, its images retain true colors and details, thanks to its 400ppi viewing in camera zone, similar pixel density and brightness of screen.
Xiaomi’s in-display camera leverages CUP technology which reduces light diffraction with special circuit design, new transparent curved wiring Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) material and other imaging algorithms.
The Xiaomi MIX 4 is also first mobile phone powered by Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. It has new heat dissipation structure having a combined surface area of 11588mm² to keep thermals in check. Depending on model, smartphone comes in options of 8GB/12GB RAM with 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options.
With thickness of just 8.02 mm, the MI MIX 4 packs in 4500mAh battery inside. It has support for 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. With wired charging, Xiaomi says that handset charges from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes and with wireless charging, it takes just about 28 minutes.
Additionally, Xiaomi adds that maximum rear temperature when doing wired charging will be 37°C. It is done with intelligent fast charging modulation algorithm, which manages charging speed and temperature in different scenarios. This algorithm results in increase of battery charging cycles by up to 25%.
The MI MIX 4 packs in 108MP (main) + 13MP (ultra-wide) + 8MP (periscope) cameras at back. Primary shooter has Samsung HMX sensor with 4-in-1 super pixel binning and OIS. The ultra-wide angle shooter comes with optical free-form lens. Periscope lens offers 50X digital zoom and 5X optical zoom.
To ensure optimum network coverage, the MIX 4 has unique interior metal case as an antenna amplifier. It has 19- antennas built-inside with signal quality optimizations for 8 scenarios. It automatically detects environment, optimize network configurations and allows manual location entry to enhance signal quality in traffic areas.
