Along with Apple Watch Series 6, Cupertino tech giant has also announced Apple Watch SE smart watch. It comes in both 40mm and 44mm case size and in GPS or GPS+Cellular models.
The Apple Watch SE is water resistant up to 50 meters. It has same Accelerometer, gyroscope and always-on altimeter present inside Apple Watch Series 6. It has motion sensor and microphone and offer array of health and safety features, fall detection, emergency SOS, international emergency calls, Noise app etc.
It runs on WatchOS 7 which house long list of features including family setup, sleep tracking, automatic handwashing detection and new workouts.
The Apple Watch SE uses 100% recycled aluminum and comes in three beautiful case finishes. It is also compatible with all Apple Watch bands including Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop.
The smartwatch comes with a stunning Retina display with thin borders and curved corners. It is 30% larger when compared with Watch Series 3. Thanks to its bigger display, it has larger easy to read app icons and fonts and new watch faces.
The Apple Watch SE features in S5 System in Package (SiP) and dual-core processor inside, which is 2x faster than series 3. Its Digital Crown with haptic feedback has a mechanical feel when rotated.
It has built-in speaker and microphone and uses Bluetooth V5.0. The built-in next-gen always-on altimeter provides real-time elevation all day long. It is a power-efficient barometric altimeter which detects small elevation changes from ground level (up and down measurement by 1 foot).
There is a built-in compass for better directions. Users can also add three new Compass complications to their watch faces. With Emergency SOS on Apple Watch SE, users can quickly call for help and alert emergency services just with a push of button.
It has has fall detection algorithm which uses a custom algorithm, accelerometer and gyroscope to detect when falls. Apple Watch sends users alerts after hard fall which can be dismissed or used to initial a call to emergency services. If there is immobility for about 60 seconds after fall, it will automatically call for emergency services and play and audio message providing user location.
