Google and IMAX partners to develop VR Camera

Google and Imax have come together to develop groundbreaking Virtual Reality (VR) camera. Both the companies today announced the partnership at Google I/O 2016 annual developer conference.
Both the companies are working to develop cinema grade virtual reality (VR) camera called the IMAX VR Camera. It will make use of Google’s Jump platform that will allow film makers and content creators to deliver highest-quality 3D 360-degree content.
IMAX will also provide google with exclusive access to its pre-existing documentary content for conversion and use with Google’s VR technology. It’s team of engineers and camera specialists will work with Google to design new high-res cameras and will make use of IMAX’s best-in-class technology.

The camera will be made to utilize Jump platform, that allows creating and viewing 3D 360 videos and deliver highest quality and most immersive VR content to its customers.
