Google has officially unveiled its latest Pixel smartphones called Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. They are successors to last years Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
They come with Pixel traditional two-tone design with aluminum frame covered with hybrid coating. For added durability, Google has placed Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and back.
They come with IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Both of them feature in front firing loud speakers, which company claims are to be 40% louder than its predecessors. Both of these smartphones come with active edge, rear facing fingerprint sensor.and 3 microphones.
The Google Pixel 3 has dimensions of 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9 mm and has weight of 148 grams. It has 5.5-inch OLED display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, 443 ppi pixel density, HDR, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and multi-touch support. It has 2915 mAh battery and supports fast and wireless charging.
These smartphones run on Android 9.0 Pie OS out of the box. They have Titan Security to protect on-device sensitive data. They are powered by octa-core Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. Google stuck with 4GB RAM and 64GB / 128GB storage options.
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL features in dual front facing cameras. They consist of 8MP fixed focus primary front camera with F/2.2 Aperture, 97-degree FOV and 1080p video recording. The secondary one is an 8MP camera with F/1.8 Aperture, 75-degree FOV and Auto Focus.
Both of these handsets come with 12.2MP rear camera with LED Flash, F/1.8 Aperture, 76-degree FOV, 1.4μm pixel size, OIS, EIS, Dual PDAF and 4K video recording. It is also equipped with Spectral + Flicker sensor.
There are several AI capabilities in cameras like Top Shot (AI feature to capture multiple shots), Super Res Zoom, Night Sight (Bright, detailed, low light shots), Photobooth mode etc.
They have connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5Ghz), Bluetooth V5.0 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C Gen1 etc.
