HONOR 50 Pro 5G smartphone unveiled, Snapdragon 778G SoC inside

HONOR has finally announced its latest HONOR 50 Pro smartphone in China. It was introduced along side vanilla Honor 50.

It is powered by Android 11 with Magic UI 4.2 on top. The HONOR 50 Pro has dual SIM slots with support for 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G VoLTE. It has dimensions of 163.46 x 74.66 x 8.05 mm and weighs 187 grams.

The mobile feature a larger 6.72-inch curved OLED display with 2676 x 1080 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate and delivers DCI-P3 wide color gamut.

Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 778G mobile platform with Adreno 642L GPU. The HONOR 50 Pro specs include 8GB / 12GB RAM with 256GB storage space. There is no expansion support though.

The handset comes dual selfie shooters making up of 32MP (main, F/2.2) and 12MP (ultra-wide, F/2.4) cameras. At the rear side are quad cameras consisting of 108MP (main, F/1.9) + 8MP (ultra-wide, F/2.4) + 2MP (depth, F/2.4) + 2MP (macro, F/2.4) shooters and LED Flash.

The HONOR 50 feature a 4000mAh battery with 100W SuperCharge fast charging. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor for fast and secure authentication.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual band (2.4/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C (type-C audio support) and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

The HONOR 50 8GB/256GB model is priced at 3699 Yuan ($578) while its 12GB/256GB model costs 3999 yuan ($625). The handset is up for pre-order in China and will go on sale from June 25th.
