HTC U12+ with dual front and rear cameras announced

HTC as expected, has put an end to the rumors and has announced its latest flagship called U12+. It comes in single / Hybrid Dual SIM slot options and is powered by Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense UI on top.
Measuring in at 156.6 x 73.9 x 8.7 – 9.7 mm and weight of 188 grams, the handset features in 6-inch Super LCD 6 display with 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution. The screen delivers DCI-P3 color coverage and supports sRGB and HDR10. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well.
It has ultra thin border and 3D Glass body. It has IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. A rear mounted fingerprint sensor allows quick unlocking and added security. Moreover, cell phone features in Edge Sense 2.0 for quick accessing apps and enhanced usability.
HTC U12 image 4The HTC U12+ specs include octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 6GB RAM and offers 64GB / 128GB UFS 2.1 storage options. The handset also allows further expansion up to 2TB using MicroSD card.
The HTC U12 Plus packs in a total of four cameras, two on the front and two at the back. Talking about the front, there are 8MP + 8MP selfie shooters with F/2.0 Aperture, 1.12μm pixel size, AR Stickers and delivers real-time bokeh. Face unlock is also supported.
At the back side is 12MP HTC UltraPixel 4 primary rear camera with F/1.75 Aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, PDAF and Laser AF support. Additionally, there is a secondary 16MP rear shooter with Telephoto lens, F/2.6 Aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 4K video recording (30fps) and Slo-mo 1080p capture at 240fps.
The hardware is jacked up by 3500 mAh battery and also supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. Company is claiming that battery goes from 0% to 50% in 35 minutes of charging. Usual HTC features like USB-C Audio, HTC boomSound Hi-Fi Edition, Hi-Res audio and HTC USonic with Active noise cancellation also makes way.
Connectivity wise, the handset supports Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5Ghz), Bluetooth V5, USB Type-C, NFC, GPS/GLONASS etc are supported as well.
The HTC U12+ price starts at $799 (Rs. 54,630 approx) for 64GB storage variant. The phone’s cost goes up to $849 (Rs. 58,050 approx) for 128GB storage mode. The cell phone come sin Ceramic Black, Translucent Blue and Red colors. It is up for pre-order in US and Europe expected to ship later this month or early next month (depending on the market).
