Qualcomm has upgraded its Quick Charge 3 fast charging technology with a new one called Quick Charge 3+. It is aimed at mid-range smartphones.
The Quick Charge 3+ not only offers fast charging but is 9-degree Celsius cooler than its predecessor. Qualcomm claims that it can charge from 0% to 50% in just 15 minutes. Statistically, it is 15% faster than base Quick Charge 3.
The Quick Charge 3+ also supports industry standard USB Type-A-to-Type-C cables and accessories that support scalable voltage with 20mV steps from Quick Charge 4.
Additionally, the tech is backward compatible with previous generations. Qualcomm has insured various safety mechanisms with integrated cable power capability / identification.
The Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ fast charging is already support by Xiaomi’s recently announced phone, Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G (Globally known as Mi 10 Lite Zoom). Additionally QC3+ will be first available in Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G followed by other Snapdragon platforms.
