Qualcomm Technologies has officially unveiled its latest Snapdragon 800 Series mobile processor called Snapdragon 870 5G Mobile Platform.
It is basically Snapdragon 865+ SoC in disguise, but with higher clock speeds. The SD870 SoC features in Qualcomm Kryo 585 CPU prime core with clock speed up to 3.2GHz coupled with three Cortex-A77 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores.
The new Snapdragon 870 is designed to deliver increased performance across the board for geared-up gameplay with insanely fast Qualcomm® Snapdragon Elite Gaming experiences, truly global 5G sub-6 GHz and mmWave, and ultra-intuitive AI.

Commercial devices based on Snapdragon 870 are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2021. OEM’s like Motorola, OnePlus, iQOO, Oppo and Xiaomi are already working on devices powered by Snapdragon 870 5G SoC.
