Redmi 7A launches in India starting Rs. 5799

Xiaomis sub-brand Redmi has officially launched Redmi 7A budget smartphone in India. It was announced last month in China and is successor to last years Redmi 6A.

The phone measures 146.3 x 70.41 x 9.55 mm and weighs 150 grams. It has P2i nano coating for splash resistance and sports a polycarbonate body.

The Redmi 7A specs include 5.45-inch multi-touch 2.5D curved glass display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It has an octa-core Snapdragon 439 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU.

It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB storage options and supports further expansion up to 256GB using MicroSD card. The phone comes pre-installed with Android 9.0 Pie OS with MIUI 10 on top.

The Redmi 7A features in 12MP single rear shooter with Sony IMX486 sensor, F/2.2 Aperture and 1.25micron pixels. It also supports PDAF and will include AI Scene detection which will be available via OTA update.

At the front side is a 5MP shooter. It has 4000 mAh (typical) battery with 10W (5V/2A) fast charging support. The handset comes with dual Nano SIM slots and supports dual 4G VoLTE.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V5.0, GPS, FM Radio (wireless) and 3.5mm Audio jack.

The Redmi 7A 16GB price is Rs. 5799 (only in month of July, will be increased to Rs. 5999 after that). The Redmi 7A 32GB price is Rs. 5999 (only till July, will be hiked to Rs. 6199 after that). The smartphone comes in Matte Black, Matte Blue and Matte Gold colors. You can buy phone at Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores from July 11th.
