Sony FDR-X3000R and HDR-AS300R Flagship 4K and HD action cams announced

Sony Electronics is a global leader in its digital imaging solutions. Today, company has introduced its latest Flagship 4K and HD Action Cams called FDR-X3000R and HDR-AS300R.
They are the first POV Cameras to include Balanced Optical SteadyShot (B.O.SS) image stabilization technology. Internally, the camera lens and sensors are joined and moved together to compensate shaking. This ensures capturing smooth and stable footage.
The Sony FDR-X3000R and HDR-AS300R have advanced movie making capabilities as well. Both the Action Cams feature new ZEISS Tessar Lens, new Back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor, Powerful BIONZ X processor and captures video at 16:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, they utilize full pixel readout without pixel binning technology to produce high-res images with accurate colours.
It can read and process date in variety of formats including high data stream XAVC S codec (100Mbps in 4K and 50Mbps in 1080p). Bot the cameras offer new angle of view adjustment, 3X smooth zoom  at Wide / Medium / Narrow settings.
They have built-in stereo microphone with wind noise reduction. Sony’s new Action Cam models will be offered in a kit with a compact live-view remote, which is 30% smaller than previous ones.  The remote has mountable design, can control various functions (shooting, start/stop recording, power) and features an “auto display” mode.

They also have Wi-Fi High power mode that extends communication distance between the camera and Live-View remote. The FDR-X3000R and HDR-AS300R both allow time-lapse capture and can be transformed in to 4K time-lapse using Action Cam Movie Creator software.
Just like the previous models, they come with built-in GPS and speedometer. They body is splash proof and water proof with supplied underwater Housing (MPK-UWH1), that is certified down to 197ft / 60m in depth.
The Sony FDR-X3000 will be sold as body only for about US$ 400 (CA$ 550). The full kit including Live-View remote (FDR-X3000R) will sell for US$ 550 (CA$700). The Sony HDR-AS300 costs US$ 300 (CA$ 400) while the full Kit (HDR-AS300R) costs US$ 450 (CA$ 550). Both the POV Cams will be available in North America in late September from authorized dealers.
