Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium with 5.8-inch 4K display, SD845, 6GB RAM announced

Sony has just announced its latest Xperia Z Series smartphone called XPERIA Z2 Premium. The flagship sports a 3D glass body with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the back.
It is premium version of Xperia XZ2 which was introduced at MWC 2018.  The cell phone comes with IP65 / IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It has rear mounted fingerprint sensor and front facing stereo speakers (with S-Force front sound).
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has dimensions of 158 x 80 x 11.9 mm and weighs 236 grams. It comes in Single and Dual SIM options and supports 4G VoLTE as well. It has DSEE HX, LDAC and allows USB Type-C audio.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium image 2This Sony smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It has 5.8-inch Triluminos HDR display with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for added durability. Sony is claiming that Xperia XZ2 Preimum’s display is 11% larger and 30% brighter than the 4K HDR display of Xperia XZ Premium.
Coming to the internals, the cell features in octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage space and allows further expansion up to 400GB using MicroSD card. The hardware is powered by 3540 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, Qnovo Adaptive Charging and Qi Wireless charging.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium specs also include 13MP front facing camera with F/2.0 Aperture, 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor and 22mm wide angle lens. At the back side is dual camera setup with LED Flash. It makes up of 19MP primary rear camera with 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, F/1.8 Aperture G lens, 1.22µm pixel size, 5-axis Stabilization, Anti-distortion shutter, Triple Image sensing technology, Predictive capture, 4K recording and 960fps Slow-motion video capture. There is a secondary 12MP monochrome rear shooter with 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS Sensor, F/1.6 Apetrue G Lens and 1.55µm pixel size. The combination allows one to capture 4K HDR videos with ISO sensitivity of 51200 for photos and ISO 12800 for videos.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band 2.4/5GHz MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C 3.1, NFC, GPS/GLANOSS etc.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium comes in Chrome Silver and Chrome Black colors and will launch globally in Summer 2018. Pricing details were not unveiled.
