Xiaomi has already introduced Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE back in May. Today a handset bearing model M1808D2TE and M1808D2TC was spotted at TENAA. The device is believed to be called as Mi 8 Youth Edition or Mi 8X.
The handset packs in premium specifications. The M1808D2TE model comes with fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking and security. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS with MIUI on top. The device measures 156.4 x 75.8 x 7.5 mm has weighs about 169 grams.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition (Mi 8X) packs in a 6.26-inch multi-touch 2.5D curved glass display with 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by 2.2GHz octa-core processor which is probably Snapdragon 710 SoC.
The M1808D2TE will come in three variants – 4GB RAM with 32GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB internal memory. The mobile also supports MicroSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition (Mi 8X) will come with 12MP primary rear camera + 8MP secondary rear camera and LED Flash. For selfies, there is an improved 24MP front facing shooter. And yes, AI capabilities will be present as well.
According to TENAA, the mobile packs in 3250 mAh battery. Also expect dual SIM connectivity with 4G VoLTE support. Connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) 2X 2 MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C etc will be supported as well.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition (M1808D2TE) will come in several color options like Black, White, Gold, Rose Gold, Blue, Pink, Red, Gray, Silver, Green, Gradient, Blue-Violet Gradient, Purple Gradient etc. An official launch is expected in near future.
