Xiaomi along with Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition has also announced a mid range smartphone called Mi 8 SE. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 on top and is upgradable to MIUI 10.
The handset measures 147.28 x 73.09 x 7.5 mm and weighs 164 grams. It has rear mounted fingerprint sensor and 2.5D glass body. The phone packs in dual SIM slots and supports dual 4G VoLTE.
The Mi 8 SE specs include 5.88-inch AMOLED display with 2244 x 1080 pixels resolution, 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 60000:1 contrast ratio, 600nits brightness and DCI-P3 color gamut.
It is powered by recently announced octa-core (2.2GHz Kryo 360 x 2 + 1.7GHz Kryo 360 x 6) Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform with Adreno 616 GPU. It comes with 4GB / 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage space.
The Xiaomi MI 8 SE features in 20MP front camera with AI Portraits and AI Beautification. It makes use of pixel binning technology to combine information from four pixels to create one large 2.0µm pixel.
At the back side is 12MP primary rear camera with LED Flash, F/1.9 Aperure, 1.4µm pixel size and Dual PD. There is a 5MP secondary rear shooter with F/2.0 Aperture and 1.12µm pixel size.
The hardware is fueled by 3120 mAh (typical) / 3020 mAh (minimum) battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity wise, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) 2X 2 MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C and Type-C audio.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE comes in Black, Gold, Red and Blue colors. It will go on sale in China from June 8th.
