    Acer Chromebook Tab 10, first Chrome OS Tablet announced

    Acer has announced world’s first Chrome OS running education tablet called ACER Chromebook Tab 10 (D651N). It is specially aimed at education customers and will be used in K-12 classrooms

    The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 specs include 9.7-inch IPS multi-touch display with 204 x 1536 pixels QXGA resolution and has 264ppi pixel density. It has slim size and portable design and caters to wider range of students, including young ones with smaller hands.

    This Chrome OS Tablet measures 172.2 x 238.2 x 9.98 mm (W x D x H), weighs about 550 grams and easily fits into a backpack or a desk. It also supports Google Play, allowing teaches and students to access educational Android Apps.

    Additionally, the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 also comes with Wacom EMR stylus, using which students can work with interactive applications, make sketches, take notes or jock down ideas. The stylus fits in the chassis dock for secure storage. The Wacom EMR stylus is also sturdy enough to handle accidental drops and does not require a battery.

    The Tablet features in OP1 Processor (Cortex A72 x 2 + Cortex A53 x 4) and is backed by 4GB RAM and 32GB of on-board storage space. There is a 2MP HD web camera at the front, dual accompanying speakers and microphones for chats and video calls. There is a 5MP rear camera that records videos.

    Acer-Chromebook-Tab-10-D651N-image-2The Chromebook Tab 10 supports multiple user sign-in giving students quick access to their information, apps, projects, emails etc. The tablet also allows storage on Google Drive thus protecting files even when the tablet is lost, stolen or damaged. Additionally, this Chrome Tablet will also support augmented reality in future.

    Connectivity wise, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2X2 MIMO, Bluetooth V4.1, USB 3.1 Type-C Gen1, combo headphone/speaker jack and MicroSD card reader.

    The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 (Model D651N) price starts at US$ 329 and will be available to education / commercial customers in North America in April. In EMEA, the tablet price starts at €329 (including VAT) and will be available in May.
