Amazon unveils new Fire HD 8 tablet with hands-free Alexa

Amazon has announced its latest 8th Generation Fire HD 8 tablet. It runs on new Fire OS 6 (based on Android Nougat) and comes with hands-free Alexa voice assistant.

The Fire HD 8 (2018) specs include 8-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and 189ppi pixel density. Under the hood is 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB RAM.

The tablet comes in options of 16GB storage (9.8GB user available) and 32GB storage (23.8GB user available). There is MicroSD card support for further expansion up to 400GB.

The device is bundled with built-in microphone, integrated stereo speakers and Dolby Audio for optimum sound. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0 and 3.5mm Audio Jack. It has Ambient light sensor and Accelerator as well.
