Asus has introduced a new mobile phone called the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. It is a premium variant of Zenfone 3 Deluxe that was announced at Computex 2016 in May.
Confusing enough, the new variant is powered by Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 6GB RAM and comes in storage options of 64GB / 128GB / 256GB. MicroSD card for further storage expansion are also supported.
Other features are the same, that includes, 5-7-Inch Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The screen has 100% NTSC colour Gamut and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
This new Zenfone 3 Deluxe features 3000 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and BoostMaster fast charging. The mobile has measurements of 156.4 x 77.4 x 4.2 ~ 7.5 mm and weighs 170 grams. It comes with Fingerprint sensor on the back for added security.
The smartphone is equipped with 23MP primary camera on the back, with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX318 Sensor, F/2.0 Aperture, 6P Largan Lens, 4-Axis OIS, 3-Axis EIS and Laser Auto Focus. On the front is 8MP secondary camera for selfies, that comes with F/2.0 Aperture and 85-degree wide angle lens.
The mobile runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Zen UI 3.0. It is equipped with Dual Five-magnet speakers, NXP smart amplifier and Hi-Res Audio (HRA). Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2, GPS, USB 3.0 Type-C etc.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe premium variant with Snapdragon 821 SoC / 6GB RAM / 256GB storage is priced at NT$ 24,990 (US$ 775). The Snapdragon 820 SoC / 6GB RAM / 64GB storage model is priced at NT$ 17,990 (US$ 558). The basic 4GB RAM / Snapdragon 820 / 32GB storage is priced lower at NT$ 15,990 (US$ 496). The Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be available in Hong Kong and Taiwan in early August. The premium Snapdragon 821 SoC variant will go on sale at a later date.
